With the split, Marietta moved to 4-1, while Adrian now stands at 4-3 on the season.
Williams (2-0), a senior right-hander, allowed just five hits, struck out a career-best 10 Bulldogs without a walk and allowed a single run in the ninth before giving way to junior closer
Kyle Lindquist (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne), who retired the final two hitters to earn his second save of the year.
Domschot (0-2) was almost as good but his effort came in a loss. The senior left-hander scattered three runs on six hits in eight innings. Domschot walked three and fanned ten.
Marietta broke the scoreless tie in the fifth. Sophomore catcher
Alex Toth (Painesville/Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin) drew a one-out walk. Sophomore third baseman
Evan Brockmeier (Marietta/Marietta) followed with a single. Junior shortstop
Tim Saunders (Alliance/Alliance), who finished 3-for-4, then produced a RBI single to plate Toth. Brockmeier also scored on the play when the center fielder over threw the third baseman attempting to cut down Brockmeier at third.
Sophomore
Brad Park (Oxford/Talawanda), who made his season debut after missing the first three games in Memphis with an injury, drove in the final Pioneer run an inning later with a ground out to second. Senior
Britt Meador (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) led off the sixth and scored on the play.
Adrian scored its run on a Cody Meyer one-out double in the ninth. Lindquist, however, shut the door with a strikeout and a pop out to secure the victory.
The Bulldogs' David Partyka kept the Pioneers' bats off balance in game two, forcing 11 fly ball outs, and pitched a five-hit shutout while walking one and striking out four to earn the victory and improve to 1-1.
Adrian took a 1-0 advantage in the first when Cody Meyer, who led off the game with a walk, later scored on a wild pitch.
The Bulldogs added an unearned run in the fifth. Meyer reached base on a one-out triple and crossed the plate moments later when Andrew Deluca picked up the RBI with a ground out.
Junior
Austin Blaski (Pandora/Gilboa) (1-1) suffered the loss after allowing two runs on four hits, walking two and striking out six in six and two-thirds innings. Junior
Logan Lewis (Nashport/Tri-Valley) recorded the final four outs, giving up two hits and fanning another.
Senior
John Snyder (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) finished 2-for-3 in the loss.
