2008-09: Matt, a one-year letterman, received a medical redshirt after an injury forced him to miss all but 9 games in 2008-09. The post player averaged 6.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 18.8 minutes in his limited action, which included 7 starts. Kubachka’s best effort of the year came when he posted a 13-point and 8-rebound effort against Otterbein.

2007-08: Kubachka, who joined the team as a junior, appeared in 19 games and made 7 starts in 2007-08. He averaged 4.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 17.4 minutes of action. Kubachka scored a career-high 14 points against Otterbein, posted a personal-best 5 blocks at Capital and pulled down a season-high 8 rebounds on three different occasions.

Coach VanderWal says: “Matt is a very athletic 4-man, who poses some match-up problems for defenders with his explosiveness and athleticism. He has worked hard to come back from an ankle injury last year. As a senior captain, we’re hoping that Matt has a very successful year.”
