WESTERVILLE, Ohio — After a stellar performance on the final day of the regular season, Marietta College junior
Austin Ziance (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week Monday (May 4) afternoon by the league office. This was his second weekly award win of the season and the third as a member of the Etta Express.
Ziance pitched a complete game in his final appearance of the season. He gave up three runs, but only one earned, to Wilmington College last Saturday, striking out eight to help him earn the victory.
The season concluded with Ziance holding a 6-4 record and a 1.91 earned run average, which ranked second best in the OAC. He led the conference with four complete games and logged 75.1 innings pitched. His 68 strikeouts for the season were the third-best in the OAC.
Marietta finished the 2026 season with an overall record of 13-20. Their 9-7 conference record resulted in a fourth-place tie with Muskingum University. However, the Fighting Muskies held the tiebreaker, preventing the Pioneers from advancing to the postseason.
