MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College placed two players on the 2026 ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team Tuesday (May 26) morning. Pitcher Austin Ziance (Highland Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) was named to the second team and outfielder Michael Ciavolella (Tallmadge, Ohio/Archbishop Hoban) was named to the third team. Ziance was also named to the D3baseball.com All-Region third team.
 
Ziance, a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference first team selection, posted a 6-4 record and finished with a 1.91 earned run average, good for second in the conference. He worked a total of 75.1 innings, including a league-leading four complete games, and struck out 68 batters, which was fifth in the conference.
 
"Austin was our 'go-to' guy as he always pitched against our OAC opponent's best pitcher," said acting Marietta head baseball coach Bill Mosca. "Austin is a great leader with a great work ethic and makes all those around him better."
 
Ciavolella made his mark in his first year as a Pioneer, earning All-OAC first team status. The outfielder earned the team triple crown, leading with 33 runs batted in, a .360 batting average, and nine home runs, good for sixth in the conference. Ciavolella also played flawless defense, collecting 33 putouts and an outfield assist without committing a single error on the season.
 
"Michael led our team in all offensive statistical categories this spring and came up big against conference opponents, including batting .415 against the OAC," said Mosca. "The OAC recognized his talents as he was third in the MVP voting. We look forward to watching his continued development over the next two years."
