MARIETTA, Ohio — Case Western Reserve University defeated Marietta College by the score of 3-0 Wednesday (Sept. 17) afternoon in men's soccer action. The Pioneers fall to 3-4-1 overall, while Case Western improves to 6-0-1 on the season.
Once again, the Pioneers found themselves in an early hole. Case Western scored just over three minutes into the match. Adam Pluszczyk scored an unassisted goal in the fourth minute of the match. The score remained 1-0 at halftime.
Marietta was whistled for a foul inside the box early in the second half and Ohta Kamiya converted the penalty kick for a 2-0 Spartan lead. Pluszczyk added his second goal of the match in the 81st minute with an assist from Sean Wilson.
Bradley Winter went the distance in goal for Case Western. He recorded one save and the clean sheet.
Noah Walker (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) had 11 saves in goal for Marietta.
Marietta travels to Allegheny College on Saturday (Sept. 20) for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
