WESTERVILLE, Ohio — The Marietta College men's and women's track and field team competed in the Otterbein Twilight Meet Friday (April 18) and two Pioneers competed in the Kenyon Duane Gomez Invitational on Saturday (April 19).
Marietta's women placed 17th at Otterbein, while the men finished 20th in the team standings.
Elizabeth Schnegg (Clarington, Ohio/St. John Central) and
Max King (Granville, Ohio/Granville) competed on Saturday at Kenyon.
Schnegg had a successful weekend placing fourth in the javelin at Otterbein and winning the event at Kenyon. On Friday, Schnegg recorded a distance of 31.62 meters (103' 9"). She exceeded that on Saturday with a personal record mark of 32.38 meters (106' 2") for the win. In addition, Schnegg set a personal record in the discus at Otterbein with a throw of 24.74 meters (81' 2").
King placed fourth in the 800-meter dash at Kenyon. He crossed the line in a personal record time of 2:01.82.
Marietta's other team points at Otterbein came from
Michaela Hieronymus (Letart, W.Va./Wahama) and
Sage Landis (Friendly, W.Va./). Hieronymus posted a time of 2:20.90 in the 800m to place seventh in the event. Landis was second in the men's pole vault with a height of 4.61 meters (15' 1.5").
Mount Union win the women's team title at Otterbein with 145.5 total points. Ashland was second with 89 points, followed by, Otterbein (77 points), Cedarville (72), Wright State (66.5), Wilmington (54.5), Wittenberg (48.5), Ohio State Running Club (26), Thomas More (23), Ohio Wesleyan (23), Adrian (14), Ohio Dominican (14), Ohio Northern (13), Wheeling (12), Shawnee State (11), Marietta (7), Ohio Christian (6), Muskingum (5), Olivet (4), Mount Vernon Nazarene (1), and Denison (1).
Mount Union also won the men's team title with 99 points. Ashland was second with 95 points, followed by Cedarville (81 points), Wright State (61), Wilmington (60), Otterbein (54), Shawnee State (35), Ohio State Running Club (31), Ohio Northern (30), Wittenberg (26), Ohio Dominican (25), Olivet (24), Wheeling (21), Adrian (18), Muskingum (17), Capital (15), Mount Vernon Nazarene (10), Columbus Track Club (9), Bethany (9), Marietta (8), Ohio Wesleyan (6), and Thomas More (3).
Several other Pioneers set new personal records in their respective events at Otterbein.
Ashley Ward (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) in the 100-meter dash (15.76 seconds) and 200-meter dash (32.24 seconds);
Emma Fehrman (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) in the 200m (26.24 seconds);
Sadie Gray (Whipple, Ohio/) in the 200m (27.02 seconds); and
Emily Randulic (Quaker City, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) in the pole vault (2.89 meters/9' 5.75").

Isaiah Mitchell (Hebron, Ohio/Lakewood) in the 100m (11.08 seconds); Taz Morris in the 100m (11.69 seconds);
Matthew Siegler (Hamilton, Ohio/Badin) in the 100m (11.00 seconds);
Luke Price (Perrysburg, Ohio/Perrysburg) in the 400-meter hurdles (59.78 seconds);
Aiden Keener (Orrville, Ohio/Smithville) in the 800-meter dash (2:13.54);

Wade Chuich (Marietta, Ohio/John Glenn) in the discus (34.14 meters/112' 0"); and
Ryan House (New Concord, Ohio/John Glenn) in the discus (35.80 meters/117' 1").
Marietta will be back in action at the Walsh Tune-Up on Thursday (April 24).
