ROCHESTER, New York — Marietta College junior Emily Thompson (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) earned All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track Championships Friday (Mar. 14). Thompson placed 16th in the women's pole vault.

This was Thompson's second appearance at the NCAA Championships having competed in the 2023 Outdoor Championship where she placed 10th in the pole vault.

Thompson cleared the opening height of 3.47 meters (11' 4.5") on her first attempt. At the next two heights, she missed on her first attempt but cleared the bar on her second. Those heights included 3.62 meters (11' 10.5") and 3.77 meters (12' 4.5").

Thompson's run at the national title came to an end with three misses at 3.98 meters (12' 8.25").

The reigning Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor pole vault champion, Thompson will now turn her attention to the outdoor track season.

Marietta will compete in the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational hosted by Muskingum University Friday and Saturday (Mar. 28-29).
