Fehrman's triple jump title highlights day two of the OAC Indoor Championships

ADA, Ohio — The Marietta College men's and women's track and field team wrapped up the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday (Mar. 1) afternoon. The Pioneers women finished sixth overall, while the men placed tenth.

Emma Fehrman (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) successfully defended her indoor triple jump title winning the event this year with a mark of 11.23 meters (36' 10.25"). Fehrman and pole vaulter Emily Thompson (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) claimed Marietta's two individual champions. Fehrman and Thompson also earned All-OAC honors along with pole vaulter Sage Landis (Friendly, W.Va./), who placed third in yesterday's pole vault competition.

Marietta's 4x400-meter relay team placed seventh with a time of 4:18.68. Fehrman ran the lead leg, followed by Michaela Hieronymus (Letart, W.Va./Wahama), Emily Randulic (Quaker City, Ohio/Buckeye Trail), and Eden Tepe (Oregonia, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) on the anchor led.

Mount Union won the women's team title with 188.83 total points. Ohio Northern took second place with 173 points, followed by John Carroll (154 points), Baldwin Wallace (98.33), Wilmington (56), Marietta (28), Muskingum (16), Otterbein (15), Heidelberg (10.83), and Capital (1).

The Marietta men placed eight in the 4x200-meter relay. Vante Hodges ran the lead leg, followed by Matthew Siegler (Hamilton, Ohio/Badin), Isaiah Mitchell (Hebron, Ohio/Lakewood), and Landis on the anchor leg.

Mount Union claimed the men's team title with 178 points. Baldwin Wallace was second with 132 points, followed by Ohio Northern (124.5 points), John Carroll (102, Otterbein (69.5), Wilmington (60), Heidelberg (21), Muskingum (21), Capital (20), and Marietta (12).

Marietta will send Emily Thompson (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) to the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships March 14-15 in Rochester, New York.
