WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Marietta College senior linebacker
Brady McManaway (Pleasant City, Ohio/Meadowbrook) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week Monday (Nv. 3) afternoon by the league office. McManaway earned his first weekly award of the season after a strong performance against Wilmington on Saturday.
McManaway led a Pioneer defense that limited the Fighting Quakers to just one offensive touchdown and 63 yards rushing. He ended the game with six tackles (two solo and four assisted). He also registered one tackle for loss and had a pass break-up in the contest. McManaway even put some points on the board with 42-yard interception for a touchdown.
McManaway is tied for second in the OAC in tackles, averaging 8.4 tackles per game. He also ranks among the league leaders in tackles for loss with 9.0 on the season.
The Pioneers return to action this Saturday (Nov. 8) as they will be hosting the University of Mount Union. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
