MARIETTA, Ohio — Salem University defeated Marietta College by the score of 9-0 Wednesday (March 15) in men's tennis action. The Pioneers slip to 3-4 on the season, while Salem improves to 5-7 overall.
Salem posted 8-1 wins in the top two doubles matches. At No. 1, Pablo Guillen and Daniel Paipa beat
Evan Barker (Washington, W.Va./Parkersburg South) and
Elijah Kuhl (Marietta, Ohio/Wood County Christian (W.Va.)), while Max Mueller and Pablo Noya topped
Spencer Hall (Louisville, Ohio/Louisville) and
Elivh Perez (Mexico City, Mexico/Preparatoria Abierta) at No. 2.
In the No. 3 doubles position,
George Fazah (Beirut, Lebanon/Adma International School) and
David Frazier (Louisville, Ohio/Louisville) fell to Eduardo Cama and Cristobal Munos by the score of 8-0.
Mueller downed Perez at No. 1 single, 6-2 and 6-2. The remaining five singles matches were all 6-0, 6-0 finals.
Guillen beat Kuhl at No. 2. Barker lost to Paipa at No. 3. Noya took down Hall at No. 4. Cama beat Frazier at No. 5 and Roberto Sepulveda defeated Fazah at No. 6.
Marietta hosts Capital University Friday (March 17) at 3:30 p.m.
