MARIETTA, Ohio — Otterbein University defeated Marietta College by the score of 9-0 Friday (April 22) in Ohio Athletic Conference men's tennis action. The loss drops Marietta to 3-9 overall and 0-3 in the OAC. Otterbein improves to 7-6 overall and 3-1 in the OAC.
Otterbein swept the doubles matches. In the No. 1 match, Jake McDivitt and Tom Ohler beat
Spencer Hall (Louisville, Ohio/Louisville) and
Elivh Perez (Mexico City, Mexico/La Salle), 8-1. Gabriel Atteh and Jamie Price blanked
Elliot Britton (High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire/John Hampden Grammar) and
Tyler Wise (Marietta, Ohio/Marietta) at No. 2, 8-0.
Gavin Donnell (/) and
David Frazier (Louisville, Ohio/Louisville) fell to Dylan Shook and Colton Stamper at No. 3, 8-2.
McDivitt posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles over Perez. Price topped Hall at No. 2, 6-3, 3-6 and 1-0 (10-3). At No. 3, Wise lost to Ohler, 6-0 and 6-1.
Will Newberry bested Britton at No. 4, 6-0 and 6-3. In the No. 5 match, Shook beat Frazier, 6-0 and 6-1, while Donnell lost to Nate Stevens at No. 6, 6-0 and 6-0.
Marietta hosts Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday (April 23) for a 1:00 p.m. match.
