Four Pioneers earn D3football.com honors

MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College had four players honored by D3football.com with two earning All-American recognition and two others being named to the All-Region team. The All-Region team is drawn from all regions, encompassing the top players who were not named to the All-America team.

A pair of Pioneer defensive lineman were named to the All-American team. Junior defensive end Drake Neuberger (Norwalk, Ohio/Norwalk) was a first team selection, while senior defensive tackle Kyle Gallaher was a second team honoree.

Sophomore running back Bryce Agnew (Brook Park, Ohio/Berea-Midpark) was named first team All-Region and freshman cornerback Jaelon Quiero-Gordon (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville South) was tabbed second team All-Region.

Neuberger, the Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Lineman of the Year, led Division III with 9.0 sacks in the shortened five-game season. He also led the OAC with 10.0 tackles for a loss and tied for the league lead with two forced fumbles. Neuberger finished the season with 11 solo tackles and 20 assisted stops for 31 total tackles.

A three-time All-OAC honoree, Gallagher recorded 37 total tackles including seven solo and 30 assisted. He finished with 3.5 sacks and 6.0 tackles for a loss to go along with one blocked kick and a fumble recovery.

In his first season as the starter, Agnew earned All-OAC honors after leading the conference in rushing averaging 105.6 yards per game. His seven rushing touchdowns tied for the league lead. Agnew's 528 rushing yards was the sixth best total in Division III, while his seven rushing touchdowns tied for fourth in the nation.

Quiero-Gordon, an All-OAC honoree, earned All-Region recognition in his rookie season after leading the OAC with nine pass break ups. He recorded 17 total tackles including 13 solo and four assisted tackles. Quiero-Gordon picked off two passes.

Marietta finished the spring season with a 3-2 record.
