Marietta, Ohio – The Marietta College women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw against Heidelberg University on Sunday (March 21) on Marietta Field. The draws puts the Pioneers record at 0-2-1 overall and the Student Princes are 0-1-2 overall.
"These ladies did well to battle from behind and get a point out of the match. Emotions were high today, and the intensity is what we expected," said Head Coach
Sean Kaighin. "Now we just need to work on consistently playing better soccer for a full 90 minutes."
The teams battled to a scoreless draw for the opening 21 minutes of match, but Heidelberg opened the scoring in the 22nd minute of the match. The Student Princes scored the lone goal of the first half, to lead 1-0 at the intermission. Marietta had nine first half shots, and their best opportunity to score came on a shot from
