The Pioneers have faced off with the Purple Raiders twice this season, and lost both meetings. Both games were close, Marietta fell 74-68 at home and lost on the road, 73-66.
A win would advance the Pioneers to the OAC semifinals, which will be played on Thursday (March 4). Marietta is a tough out in the OAC tournament, they have advanced to the OAC semifinals in each of the last four seasons.
The tournament format this year includes reseeding after each round. Therefore, Thursday's semifinal pairings will be determined following Tuesday's games. The highest remaining seed will host the lowest remaining seed; the second highest will host the second lowest; the third highest will host the third lowest and then the fourth highest will host the final remaining team.
