MARIETTA, Ohio – The Marietta College women's soccer team wrapped up the 2021 campaign with a 2-0 loss to Baldwin Wallace on Saturday (Oct.30) afternoon.
"It's been a very difficult, but eventful season. We hoped for a better result today, but we got to end our season on a high note by celebrating our three seniors," said Head Coach
Sean Kaighin. "We'll continue to learn from this year and hit the ground running in the off-season."
Baldwin Wallace opened the scoring in the 22nd minute of the match with a goal by Sydney Rice. Rice turned and dribbled to the right side of the 18-yard box, she hit her shot to the lower near post and snuck the ball passed goalie

The Yellow Jackets out shot Marietta 9-4 in the first half, with one shot on frame by the Pioneers.
Taylor Sloan (Belpre, Ohio/Warren) placed her shot on frame late in the half, but the Baldwin Wallace goalie made the save and Marietta entered the intermission behind, 1-0.
The Yellow Jackets doubled their lead in the 53rd minute of the match when Maddie Farrell scored off a corner kick. The ball was played to the back post from a corner kick, Natalie Stewart played a ball to Farrell who shot the ball high to make the score 2-0.
The Pioneers got off a pair of shots in the second half. The shots came from
Melissa Szawranskyj (Westerville, Ohio/Westerville North) and
Kayla Stischok (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson). Marietta was unable to find the back of the net, and fell 2-0.
Delaney played all 90 minutes in goal, she faced 25 shots, 14 of which were on goal, and made 11 saves in the game.
The Pioneers concluded the 2021 season with an overall record of 2-12-2 and an Ohio Athletic Conference record of 1-7-1.
