Athletics to stream several events for STAY HOMEcoming

MARIETTA, Ohio — October on a college campus means it's time for the annual Homecoming celebration. Unfortunately, we can't host all of our alumni, family and friends on campus this year. So, we are bringing Homecoming to you!

This STAY HOMEcoming will be a virtual event with three days of various online activities this Friday, October 16 – Sunday, October 18. In place of the normal Homecoming football game, the Marietta College athletic department will live video stream several games this weekend.

While varsity intercollegiate athletic competition has been postponed until the spring semester, all of our teams have been hard at work on the practice fields this fall. This weekend will feature intrasquad Blue/White competition in baseball, men's and women's rowing, men's and women's soccer, softball and volleyball. Our other sports will be live streamed in the coming weeks.

We understand that our fans would like to attend these games in person, but for the safety of our campus community, that isn't possible at this time. In person attendance at these events is only open to current Marietta College students, faculty and staff. Everyone else is encouraged to enjoy the live video streams that can be accessed HERE.

STAY HOMEcoming athletic events begin with Men's Soccer at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 16. Following the soccer match this year's Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned.

Saturday, October 17 begins bright and early with our first-ever video stream of an MC rowing race on the Muskingum River. Racing starts at 8 a.m. and will feature both the men and women from our recent Learn To Row intramural program as well as our men's and women's varsity rowing teams. The intramural races will be 500-meter sprints in our new fleet of single sculls, while the varsity crews will square off in 2,000-meter races.

Baseball will play a Blue/White doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. Volleyball follows at 1 p.m. and women's soccer takes the field at 4 p.m.

Softball closes out the weekend with a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Sunday, October 18.
