BETHANY, W.Va. – The Marietta College women's soccer team was in action today as they were victorious over Bethany College, 2-1.

Tracy Blasius said, "We had a fantastic second half effort. Our team responded to the half time adjustments to battle back and win the match."
Bethany opened the scoring in the first half with a goal in the 31st minute of the match. Bethany was able to maintain their 1-0 edge at the intermission. The Pioneers had a couple of opportunities in the first half as
Sienna Ahlers (Los Alamos, N.M./Los Alamos) and
Embrey Roberts (Marietta, Ohio/Marietta) each had a shot on goal.
Marietta came out of half time ready to play as they tied the game in the 65th minute. Ahlers tied the game with her first goal of the season off an assist from
France Moise (Naples, Fla./Naples). The Pioneers took the lead, nine minutes later, in the 74th minute when
Chloe Williams (Dresden, Ohio/Tri-Valley) found the back of the net off an assist from
Halie Hill (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg) and
Kelsey Carver (Bellville, Ohio/Clear Fork). Marietta closed out the game, and won 2-1.
Katie Conkle (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) was in goal for the Pioneers as she faced four shots, two of which were on goal, and made one save.
Marietta will return to the field Saturday (Sep. 22nd) when they travel to take on Geneva College, with the game set to kick off at 2 p.m.
