UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — The Marietta College women's soccer team dropped a 6-0 decision at John Carroll University Saturday (Oct. 20) evening in Don Shula Stadium. Marietta falls to 5-10-1 overall and 2-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Blue Streaks improve to 5-10-1 on the season and 2-5 in the OAC.
John Carroll jumped on top with a pair of goals in the first half. Jaclyn Audino tallied the game winner in the 22nd minute of an assist from Rachel Braunegg. Bailey Fischer made it 2-0 with an unassisted goal six minutes later.
The Blue Streaks continued the offensive onslaught in the second half scoring four goals in the final 45 minutes. Fischer added her second goal of the match to make it 3-0. Lexie Keller, Audino and Kennedy Newhart each scored goals in the second half.
Katie Conkle (Toledo, Ohio/Whitmer) had 13 saves in goal for the Pioneers before turning things over to
Katie Delaney (Batavia, Ohio/). Delaney recorded four saves in 21 minutes of action. Conkle allowed four goals, while Delaney allowed two.
Danielle DelGiudice went the distance in goal for the Blue Streaks and had one save in the shutout.
Marietta returns home to host rival Muskingum University on Wednesday (Oct. 24) at 7 p.m.
