TIFFIN, Ohio — The Marietta College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Saturday (Oct. 21) afternoon at Heidelberg University. Heidelberg defeated the Pioneers 3-0 and Case Western Reserve University downed MC 3-2.
Heidelberg (13-11 overall, 4-3 OAC) posted set scores of 25-10, 25-22 and 26-24 in the win over Marietta (11-15 overall, 3-4 OAC).
Erica Denallo (Parma, Ohio/Independence) and
Darcy Irish (Lagrange, Ohio/Keystone) each had eight kills to lead the Pioneers.
Hunter Barnes (Duncan Falls, Ohio/Philo) added seven kills. Maddies Nader directed the Marietta attack dishing out 19 assists.
Emily Peters (Elyria, Ohio/Keystone) posted a game-high 23 digs. Denallo added 13 digs and Nader finished with 10.
Case Western (16-9 overall) notched set scores of 25-9, 16-25, 17-25, 25-16 and 15-6 for the win against Marietta.
Irish posted a match-high 15 kills. Denallo and Barnes finished with 12 and 11 kills, respectively.
Aly Wiseman (London, Ohio/Bishop Ready) had 25 assists and Nader notched 14 assists.
Peters again anchored the Pioneer back line with 15 digs. Denallo chipped in with 12 digs.
Marietta is back in action on Tuesday (Oct. 24) at Otterbein University. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
