MARIETTA, Ohio — John Carroll University swept an Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball match, 3-0, at Marietta College Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon. The Blue Streaks won the first two games by identical 25-14 scores and then sealed the victory with a 25-20 win in the third game.
Marietta (14-10 overall, 0-3 OAC) was led by senior
Mallory Vodopich (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Perry) who finished with a match-high 10 kills and added nine digs and a block.
Darcy Irish (Lagrange, Ohio/Keystone) notched five kills and four blocks, while
Hunter Barnes (Duncan Falls, Ohio/Philo) had four kills and two blocks.
Freshman
Cassie Staten (Athens, Ohio/Athens) dished out 18 assists and added five digs.
Erica Denallo (Parma, Ohio/Independence) and
Megan Hesson (Lowell, Ohio/Fort Frye) each had eight digs and
Emily Peters (Elyria, Ohio/Keystone) chipped in with seven digs.
