WOOSTER, Ohio — The College of Wooster women's soccer team shutout Marietta College 6-0 Tuesday (Sept. 29) afternoon. The Fighting Scots improve to 8-2-1 on the season, while Marietta slips to 0-10 overall.
Wooster scored a pair of unassisted goals in the first to lead 2-0 at the break. Rachael Davis hit the game winner in the ninth minutes and Carly Joliat nailed a direct kick from 30-yards out in the 23rd minute.
Playing through rain for most of the match, the Pioneers struggled to mount an attack. The Scots added four second-half goals for the 6-0 victory. Devin Frisby scored twice, while Liz Kantra and Kennedy Payne each found the back of the net.
Marietta keeper
Rebecca Tenney (Pepper Pike/Orange) recorded a season-high 14 saves, one shy of her career best. Carly Eppler and Elizabeth Clark split time in goal for Wooster.
