FROSTBURG, Md. — The Marietta College volleyball team defeated La Roche College 3-0 and then lost to Frostburg State University by the same score Sunday (Sept. 20) afternoon. With the split, the Pioneers are 6-6 overall.
Marietta posted set scores of 26-24, 25-18 and 25-17 in the win over La Roche.
Mallory Vodopich (Canton/Massillon Perry) led all players with 10 kills and a .375 attack percentage. She also recorded 11 digs and three assists.
Devin Walter (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) finished with nine kills and eight digs.
Julia Moskaluk (Copley/Revere) directed the MC attack dishing out 24 assists.
Mary Ervin (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) had a team-high 16 digs and four service aces, while
Erica Denallo (Independence/Independence) finished with 13 digs.
In the nite cap, Frostburg State downed the Pioneers 25-23, 27-25 and 25-20. Walter and
Darcy Irish (Lagrange/Keystone) led Marietta with eight and seven kills, respectively. Moskaluk and Vodopich split the setting duties recording 18 and 11 assists, respectively.
Ervin and Denallo anchored the defense. Ervin had a match-high 23 digs, while Denallo was close behind with 21 digs.
