HIRAM, Ohio — Marietta College opened play in the Hiram College Volleyball Tournament with a 3-0 loss to the host school Friday (Sept. 18) afternoon. The Pioneers fall to 4-4 on the season, while Hiram improves to 8-3 overall.
Hiram posted set scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-12.
Shauntiel Oliver-Smith (Elyria/Elyria) led the Pioneer attack with five kills and no errors for a .385 hitting percentage.
Erica Denallo (Independence/Independence) and
Darcy Irish (Lagrange/Keystone) each added five kills in the match.
Julia Moskaluk (Copley/Revere) dished out 14 assists. Libero
Mary Ervin (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) led Marietta with 13 digs. Deanllo chipped in with seven digs.
Marietta plays SUNY Fredonia at 10:00 a.m. and the College of Mount St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 19). Fans can follow all the Pioneer teams all year long at
