COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Marietta College women's soccer team battled the first place team in the Ohio Athletic Conference but fell to Capital University by the score of 3-0 Wednesday (Oct. 21) evening in Bernlohr Stadium. The Crusaders improve to 10-4-1 on the season and 6-0 in the OAC. Marietta slips to 0-16 overall and 0-6 in league play.
The Pioneer defense played tough all night and limited Capital to just one goal in the first half. Becca Cartmill scored with an assist from Maura Fortino in the 19th minute. Mariah Richards and Chloe Brown added second half goals for the Crusaders.

Rebecca Tenney (Pepper Pike, Ohio/Orange) had a big match. The sophomore equaled her career-high with 18 saves.
Capital dominated possession and fired off 31 shots including 21 on goal. The Pioneers were held without a shot in the match. CU also held an 8-0 edge in corner kicks.
