UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — The Marietta College men's soccer team dropped a key Ohio Athletic Conference match at John Carroll University Saturday (Oct. 17) evening. The Blue Streaks escaped with a 1-0 victory improving to 9-3-1 on the season and 4-1 in the OAC. The Pioneers are 8-7 overall and 3-2 in the OAC.
John Carroll dominated play in the first half taking 15 shots to just one for the Pioneers. The Blue Streaks jumped on top in the 20th minute when Dalton Browsky scored with an assist from Kevin Pachuta and Jesse Marinaro.
The Pioneers regrouped at halftime and played JCU even in the second half. But, the Blue Streak defense, led by keeper Liam McIntosh kept Marietta off the scoreboard to notch its fourth clean sheet of the season.
Tyler Sholl (Johnstown/Big Walnut) went the distance in goal for Marietta recording three saves.
For the match, John Carroll outshot the Pioneers 22-4. The Blue Streaks had a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks.
