MARIETTA, Ohio — Muskingum University posted a straight-set win over Marietta College Tuesday (Oct. 13) evening in Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball action. The Fighting Muskies down Marietta 25-15, 25-12 and 25-18 improving to 16-7 on the season and 2-2 in the OAC. The Pioneers fall to 8-13 overall and 1-3 in the OAC.
Marietta never got its offensive attack going against the Muskies. The Pioneers finished with 21 kills and 30 attack errors for a negative hitting percentage for the match.
Mallory Vodopich (Canton/Massillon Perry) and
Devin Walter (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) each had six kills to lead the Pionner attack.
Amanda Arrowood (Reynoldsburg/Groveport Madison),
Erica Denallo (Independence/Independence) and
Shauntiel Oliver-Smith (Elyria/Elyria) all recorded three kills in the match.
Julia Moskaluk (Copley/Revere) notched 12 assists, while Vodopich had six. Defensively, Oliver-Smith had a pair of blocks. Libero
Mary Ervin (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) posted 15 digs, while
Emily Peters (Elyria/Keystone) had 11 digs.
