MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College scored the first 12 points of the game and never trailed as the Pioneers defeated Chatham University by the score of 83-56 Saturday (Nov. 22) afternoon in women's basketball action. Marietta improves o 1-1 on the season while Chatham moves to 2-2 overall.
Senior
Jessica Brogan (Cincinnati/Anderson) notched her first career double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds. She finished 9-of-18 from the floor and dished out three assists. The 13 boards were also a career-high and included six on the offensive glass.
The Pioneers dominated on the boards outrebounding the Cougars 47-27. Marietta turned 21 offensive rebounds into 27 second-chance points. Marietta also controlled the paint scoring 50 points in the paint.

Heather Booth (Newport/Frontier) and freshman
Laura Frazee (Fresno/Ridgewood) joined Brogan in double figures with 10 points each. Booth grabbed six boards, while Frazee hit 5-of-6 shots from the floor.
Senior
Sierra Sigman (Chillicothe/Zane Trace) had a game-high four assists and freshman
Ashley Frasure (Logan/Logan) blocked three Cougar shots. Freshmen
Brooke Borich (Beverly/Fort Frye) and
Amisha Herd (Zanesville/West Muskingum) recorded three steals apiece.
Four players scored nine points to lead Chatham. Megan Sieg, Rachel McClain, Anna Shashura and Becky Rowe each finished with nine points. Jesse Hinkle added six points and a team-best seven rebounds.
Marietta is back in action next weekend in the 30th annual Jim Meagle Turkey Shoot sponsored by BSN Sports. The Pioneers host Miami Middletown on Saturday (Nov. 29) at 2:30 p.m. Denison and Carnegie Mellon play at 7:30 p.m.
