Box Score UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – John Carroll University outscored Marietta College by 17 points in the second half to post a 74-68 come from behind win in Ohio Athletic Conference men's basketball Saturday (Feb. 16) afternoon.
Marietta finishes the regular season 18-7 overall and 14-4 in the OAC. The Pioneers will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming OAC Tournament. John Carroll, 12-12 overall and 9-9 in the OAC, will be the No. 5 seed.
The Pioneers used a 14-2 run over the last 4:57 of the first half to take a 44-33 lead in the break. Marietta shot a sizzling 58.1% (18-of-31) from the floor in the first half including 53.8% (7-of-13) from three-point range.

A.J. Ireland (Carroll/Bloom-Carroll) with 12:06 left in the game gave Marietta a 10-point lead, 59-49.
John Carroll went on a 17-5 run over the next seven plus minutes to take the lead 66-64, with 4:39 remaining in the game. The Blue Streaks held Marietta scoreless for nearly five and a half minutes during the run.

Senior
J.J. Martin (Huntington, W.Va./Huntington) led the Pioneers with 17 points. Junior
Tyler Hammond (Cleveland/St. Ignatius) scored 13 points and dished out five assists, while senior
Jacob Owens (Mansfield/Mansfield) added 12 points hitting 4-of-5 from behind the arc.
John Carroll's Kyle Hubbard led all scorers with 21 points. He also grabbed eight rebounds. Danny Wallack hit five treys and finished with 18 points. Hendrickson and Sweeney chipped in with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Marietta shot 45.6 % (26-of-57) from the floor for the game, 42.9% (12-of-28) from three-point range and just 57.1% (4-of-7) at the line. John Carroll was 26-of-57 (45.6%) from the floor, 8-of-21 (38.1%) behind the arc and a perfect 14-of-14 (100.0%) at the line.
John Carroll won the battle of the boards, 38-26. The Blue Streaks committed 11 turnovers, while Marietta turned the ball over 10 times.
Marietta is off until the OAC Tournament semifinals on Thursday (Feb. 21). The Pioneers will have to wait and see who they will host in Ban Johnson Arena at 7:30 p.m. Fans can catch the action live at
