Riley and Stollar lead Men's Soccer to overtime victory

Box Score MARIETTA, Ohio – The hometown duo of Wesley Riley (Marietta/Marietta) and Chris Stollar (Marietta/Marietta) led the Marietta College men's soccer team to a 2-1 overtime victory over Bethany (W.Va.) College Tuesday (Sept. 18) afternoon. The Pioneers move to 3-4 on the season and Bethany falls to 1-5 overall.

The former Marietta High School Tigers were more than Bethany could handle. Riley scored the game-winning goal in overtime and assisted on the Pioneers' first score, while Stollar recorded a season-high 11 saves in goal for Marietta.

Bethany junior forward Arkangelo James sent a long through ball from near midfield into the 18-yard box to his classmate Lamine Balde who got behind the Marietta defenders. Balde took the pass and beat Stollar on the break away for the first goal of the match in the 12th minute.
