Krissy Rowe (Toledo/Sylvania Southview)# recorded a career-high 10 assists and sophomore #
Candice Alexander (Fairborn/Fairborn)# posted career-highs in points (20) and rebounds (15) as the Marietta College women's basketball team took down the visiting Muskingum University Fighting Muskies 84-72 Wednesday (Nov. 28) night inside Ban Johnson Arena.
The Pioneers improve to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC). Muskingum falls to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the OAC.
The two conference rivals started off Wednesday's contest by trading baskets and lead changes through the first 10 plus minutes of the game. The Muskies led 17-14 with 9:54 to go in the first half before the Pioneers would fight back. Marietta outscored Muskingum 24-8 the final 9:54 of the half to lead at halftime 38-25.
The Pioneers controlled the early stages of half number two, extending its halftime lead to 19 points, 59-40, with 10:44 to play in regulation.
With the score in favor of Marietta 64-46 and 8:33 left in regulation, Muskingum made one final push by scoring the next 12 points. Junior guard #
Tori Dixon (Londonderry/Vinton County)# answered with 12 points in the final 5:52 of play to help Marietta regain its footing and go on to win 84-72.

Heather Booth (Newport/Frontier)# scored 13 points while grabbing four boards for Marietta. Sophomore #Jessica Borgan# added 10 points with five boards while Rowe scored five points to go along with her 10 assists.
Hannah Nelson led all scorers with 30 points while collecting a team-high 11 rebounds. Tori Jarrett scored 16 points with four steals while Karen Sidwell chipped in with 10 points for the Fighting Muskies.
Marietta finished the game shooting 56.6% (30-of-53) from the field, 46.7% (7-of-15) from behind the arc and 81% (17-of-21) from the free throw line. Muskingum shot 41% (25-of-61) from the field, 30% (6-of-20) from three and 69.6% (16-of-23) from the charity stripe.
Pioneers controlled the glass with 36 rebounds to Muskingum's 30 but committed 22 turnovers to the Muskies 17.
The Pioneers will hit the road on Saturday (Dec. 1) afternoon for another league clash with Ohio Northern University. Tip-off is slated for 3:00 p.m. Fans can catch the action live at
