CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Marietta College women's basketball team defeated Albion College (Mich.) by the score of 53-47 Friday (Nov. 16) evening in the first round of the Mount St. Joseph Tip-Off Classic. The win was the first for new Pioneer head coach Stacia Shrider.

Jessica Brogan (Cincinnati/Anderson)# scored 12 points to lead Marietta (1-0 overall). Junior #
Tori Dixon (Londonderry/Vinton County)# added 10 points, while sophomore #
Heather Booth (Newport/Frontier)# scored six points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
Brett deBear and Darian Payne each scored 10 points to pace Albion (0-1). Payne pulled down a game-high nine rebounds.
The Pioneers will play the host Lions Saturday (Nov. 17) at 4:00 p.m.
