UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – John Carroll threw for nearly 500 yards as the Blue Streaks defeated Marietta College by the score of 61-14 Saturday (Oct. 6) afternoon. The Pioneers fall to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. John Carroll is 3-2 on the season and 2-2 in league play. [

The Blue Streaks scored on three of their first four possessions jumping out to a 21-0 first quarter lead. John Carroll returned the opening kickoff 43 yards to the Pioneer 45-yard line. Five plays later DaQuan Grobsmith dove in from two yards out for the first points of the game.
Randy Greenwood broke a 23-yard touchdown run to cap a five-play, 80-yard drive giving JCU a 14-0 lead. The Pioneers fumbled the ensuing kickoff and the Blue Streaks recovered the ball on Marietta's 26-yard line. Sean Kuenzig ran it in from six yards out for John Carroll's second touchdown in just over a minute.

Kirby Harris (Greenville, S.C./South Side)# on a 23-yard scoring strike. The score completed an 11-play, 75-yard drive for the Pioneers.
Marietta was helped by a pass interference penalty on the Blue Streaks on a third and 11 yards to go from their own 24-yard line. Following the penalty, Fulton hit #
Sean Munfield (Marietta/Marietta)# for a 36-yard gain.
John Carroll added 20 more points in the second quarter for a 41-7 lead at the half. The Blue Streaks tacked on 10 points in each of the third and fourth quarters as well.
The Pioneers earned their final seven points with a 62-yard drive in the third quarter. Fulton connected with #
Linard Williams (Canoga Park, Calif./El Camino Real)# on a two-yard touchdown pass. The score was setup by a 45-yard completion to Harris on a fourth down play.
Mark Myers completed 18-of-31 passes for 309 yards and a touchdown. The Blue Streaks used three quarterbacks in the game and as a group they were 23-of-39 for 479 yards and two scores.
Fulton ended the day with 221 yards on 17-of-36 passes. He threw a pair of touchdown passes. Harris caught six aerials for 108 yards and a score.
