ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Marietta College women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision at the University of Mount Union Wednesday (Oct. 3) evening. The Purple Raiders move to 7-3 overall and 1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. With the loss, the Pioneers are now 3-7 on the season and 1-1 in the OAC.
Mount Union jumped on top in the 12th minute of the match. A Pioneer defender blocked Kylee Kolesar's shot, but Shannon Evans controlled the deflection and put the ball in the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
The Purple Raiders increased their lead to 3-0 with a pair of goals in the second half. Kolesar fired the ball into the upper right-hand corner of the net in the 61st minute, while Kolbie Haines scored with an assist from Jackie Lowdermilk in the 78th minute.

Erin Panczyk (Twinsburg/Twinsburg)# and rifled the ball past the Purple Raider keeper for the goal.
Maria Favorite made four saves in goal for Mount Union. #
Kaitlyn Pearse (Galena/Olentangy Orange)# recorded seven saves for the Pioneers.
Mount Union took 17 shots to Marietta's five. The Purple Raiders also had an 8-4 edge in corner kicks.
