ADA, Ohio – Ohio Northern defeated Marietta College by the score of 5-0 Saturday (Oct. 13) afternoon in women's soccer. The Polar Bears are 7-4-3 overall and 1-3-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Pioneers fall to 3-9-1 on the season and 1-3-1 in league play.
Ohio Northern dominated the match firing off 29 shots to just one for Marietta. The Polar Bears jumped on top in the 9th when Sandy Plunkett headed Lauren Brown's corner kick into the net.
Plunkett tallied her second goal of the match nine minutes later with assists from Sandra Thorarensen and Abbie Schauble. The Polar Bears took the 2-0 lead into halftime.
Ohio Northern pulled away with three second half goals. Tara Tokar found the back of the net less than two minutes into the period. Alex Weirich and Sami Atkinson each scored a goal for the Polar Bears.

Kaitlyn Pearse (Galena/Olentangy Orange)# made eight saves in the match. Ohio Northern's Erin Waehner did not have to make a save, as the Pioneers had zero shots on goal in the match.
