The Captains (6-0) dominated the game, finishing with 37 shots compared to just four from the Pioneers (0-3-3). Christopher Newport had 22 shots on goal, while Marietta had one.
Freshman
Chris Stollar (Marietta/Marietta) made a career-high 15 saves in 72 minutes. Classmate
Bobby Thaxton (Milford/Milford) added two saves over the final 18 minutes.
Christopher Newport opened the scoring in the 14th minute and took a 2-0 advantage in the 16th minute. The Captains added to their lead with a third goal in the 62nd minute and then capped the scoring with a goal in the 67th minute.
