Cory Kriechbaum (Marietta/Marietta)# continued his climb up the Marietta College football record book in a 45-6 Homecoming loss to visiting #11 Ohio Northern University Saturday (Oct. 30) afternoon at Don Drumm Stadium. [

The Polar Bears improved to 7-1 overall and are 6-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Pioneers fell to 2-6, 1-6.
Kriechbaum pulled in a game-best nine catches for 75 yards against Ohio Northern, which gave him 52 receptions on the season. He is now just two shy of the school's single-season record of 54 set by Mike Valiante in 2003. The senior also increased his career total to 136 receptions, which moved him into third place on Marietta's all-time list and leaves him just 15 shy of the Antonio Hutton's record of 151, with two games left on the schedule. Kriechbaum also moved into fifth place on the Pioneers' career list of receiving yards having now totaled 1,364 yards.
Ohio Northern scored on all five of its first half possessions and built a 38-3 halftime lead. The Polar Bears, who forced five turnovers, out gained the Pioneers 342-237 in total offense, including 206-133 on the ground.

Andrew Keller (Cincinnati/Glen Este)# completed 14-of-37 passes for 104 yards but threw a career-high four interceptions. Junior #
Jahmaal Jones (Valrico, Fla./Bloomingdale)# was the only other Pioneer besides Kriechbaum to have a reception. He caught five passes for 29 yards.

Tevin Dones (Antioch, Calif./Antioch)# led Marietta's ground attack, which produced 133 yards, by gaining 59 yards on 10 carriers. Freshman #
Josh Martin (Live Oak, Fla./Suwannee)# added 11 carries for 44 yards, while Keller had nine rushes for 17 yards.
Junior place kicker #
Kyle Cardwell (Uniontown/Green)# produced all of Marietta's scoring as he connected on a 22-yard field goal in the first quarter and a 23-yard field goal in the third quarter. Cardwell has now hit all seven of his field goal attempts this season.

Marietta returns to action Saturday (Nov. 6) afternoon when its battles Otterbein University on Senior Day at Don Drumm Stadium. Kickoff with the Cardinals (4-4, 3-4 OAC) is slated for 1:30 p.m. The Pioneers will recognize their senior football players, cheerleaders and student athletic trainers before their final home game.
