PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Marietta College's offense roared to life on Sunday, March 9, as the Pioneers crushed Missouri-Rolla 15-3 in a lopsided contest. The Pioneers (2-1) pounded out 13 hits in the game, showcasing their offensive firepower.
Mike Brandts led the charge for Marietta, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Brandts' big day included a home run and two runs scored, highlighting his all-around contribution to the offensive outburst.
Sean Risley continued his strong start to the season, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and crossing the plate three times.
On the mound, John Hamborsky (1-0) turned in a stellar performance to earn the win. The right-hander struck out four batters and allowed just three hits over five innings of work. Barry Smith came on in relief to close out the game, tossing a perfect sixth inning to seal the victory.
John Overkamp had a double and three RBI for Rolla.
