PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Marietta College emphatically snapped its two-game losing streak on Wednesday, March 12, crushing Maryville (Mo.) 17-3. The Pioneers' offense roared back to life, propelling the team to a 6-3-1 record on their Florida trip.
Eric Shoup led the offensive explosion, going 3-for-5 with four RBI. Shoup's big day included both a double and a home run, showcasing his power at the plate. Kirk Atha was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored and adding a stolen base to his impressive performance.
Mike Brandts continued his strong play, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Bill Holmes contributed a 2-for-4 day with one RBI. The duo's consistent production has been a key factor in Marietta's success this season.
