GRANVILLE — Terry Mulholland did it again.
The sophomore lefty struck out 11 as Marietta defeated Denison 5-3 in an Ohio Athletic Conference game on Wednesday, May 4.
It wasn't a perfect outing as Mulholland also gave up 11 hits and walked eight, but he got the big out when needed.
Marty Sberna went 3-for-5 with a run as the Pioneers improved to 33-7 overall and 8-2 in the OAC. Jim Pancher belted a solo home run, while Gary Kohls had a single and one RBI. Mark Talarico added two hits, a walk and a stolen base for the Etta Express.
Scott Hanna led the Big Red by going 3-for-6 with a home run and two RBI. Eric Vaaler added three hits and Tom Jump had two. Denison's Don McCarthy gave up 11 hits as he took the loss in a complete-game effort.
