MARIETTA — Marietta shortstop Jeff Wiktorski combined to go 5-for-7 with three RBI as the Pioneers defeated Davis & Elkins (W.Va.) 9-7 and 11-7 in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday, April 26 at Pioneer Park.
 
The Etta Express (29-6) scored six runs over the middle innings as the Senators outhit Marietta 14-9 in the first game.
 
Dave Thomas and Monte Duncan each went 2-for-3 with a double each. Duncan had two RBI and Thomas one. Gary Kohls doubled with two RBI. Bob Sekley (1-0) struck out four and didn't allow a hit over the final 1 1/3 innings for the win.
 
Rusty Brown went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, while Joe Kolcun went 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBI for D&E.
 
In the second game, Roger Hart (3-1) gave up seven hits and four runs over four innings for the win.
 
Jeff Wiktorski went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI, while Jim Pancher and Mark Talarico each had homers for Marietta.
