MARIETTA — In a tough non-conference doubleheader, Marietta scratched out back-to-back 6-3 victories over Point Park at Pioneer Park on Tuesday, April 19.
In the first game, Jeff Wiktorski came off the bench and singled and drove in two runs, while Gary Kohls had a double and one RBI.
Jim Kennedy (2-1) struck out four and allowed eight hits, but only gave up one run over seven innings. Jack Doran went 2-for-3 with two RBI for Point Park in the opener.
In the second game, Steve Riley had four strikeouts and gave up four hits over five innings to improve to 4-1.
MC second baseman Jim Pancher belted a home run and a triple as he went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Jon Shuler and Monte Duncan each had doubles.
Point Park's Tom Donatelli and Kevin Grimm each had two hits in the second game.
Marietta is now 24-6.
