Etta Express holds off Charleston for 6-3 win

MARIETTA — Dave Thomas and Jon Shuler sparked Marietta on offense to lead the Pioneers to a 6-3 non-conference victory over the University of Charleston at Pioneer Park on Tuesday, March 29.
 
Thomas and Shuler each went 3-for-5 with an RBI as the Etta Express improved to 18-5. Thomas had a double and a stolen base. John Hefner chipped in with two hits.
 
Ron Fama (3-1) struck out five and allowed five hits as he tossed the final 7 1/3 innings of relief to notch the win.
 
Steve Parks led Charleston with two hits, while Mike Anjari had a hit and an RBI.
