MARIETTA — After easily defeating Robert Morris 20-5, Marietta scored a late run to pull out a 9-8 victory as the Pioneers improved to 44-3-3 on Friday, May 8.
 
Ken Lisko, who went 4-for-5 with two RBI, drove in the winning run when he singled home Jim Pancher in the bottom of the eighth. John Schaly and Chris Risley each had three hits in the win, while Marty Sberna added two hits.
 
Steve Riley (5-0) got the win even though he gave up three runs in three innings of relief. Starter Ron Fama had a solid outing as he allowed five hits and two earned runs in six innings. He also had six strikeouts.
 
In the opener, Marietta amassed 19 hits and scored seven runs in the second and fourth innings.
 
Dan Munday went 4-for-4 with four RBI, a stolen base and three runs for the Pioneers. Risley went 2-for-5 with a triple and three RBI, while Jon Shuler and Schaly added three hits each.
 
Roger Hart (3-0) struck out seven and gave up five hits and two earned runs for the complete-game win.
