MARIETTA — While Marietta swept Alderson-Broaddus in a non-conference doubleheader, it was a stark difference in performances at Pioneer Park on Tuesday, April 28.
In the first game, MC's Dave Stovall scattered five hits and struck out five, while allowing just one earned run as the Etta Express won 8-2 to improve to 3-0. In the second game, Marietta amassed 22 hits on its way to a 28-6 blowout win.
Ken Lisko led the offensive barrage with four hits, including a three-run home run. He also had four RBI and a stolen base. Steve Yurchak went 3-for-5 with four RBI and a triple, while Dave Thomas went 2-for-2 with three RBI and Chris Risley had two hits, including a homer and five RBI.
Dale Hurst pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief for the win and improved to 8-2.
In the first game, John Schaly, Tom Gammiere, Jon Shuler and Lisko each had two hits in the first game. Tom Mohl also had a triple.
