DELAWARE — Marietta's offense erupted for 31 runs as the Etta Express defeated Ohio Wesleyan 19-8 and 12-5 in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday, April 25.
In the opener, Ken Lisko showed off his prowess at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a solo home run. He also scored five runs.
John Schaly, Dan Munday, Tom Mohl and Mark Talarico each had two hits. Steve Yurchak, Mark Talarico, Mohl and Munday each homered as the Pioneers (36-3-3, 11-2) banged out 17 hits in the win.
Jerry Bishop improved to 6-1 after giving up nine hits and striking out eight for the complete-game win.
In the second game, Marietta tallied 14 hits, including a 4-for-5 performance from Tom Gammiere. He also had two stolen bases.
Schaly went 3-for-5, while Lisko and Munday each had two hits and a homer. Munday also had four RBI.
Roger Hart (2-0) struck out six and gave up eight hits in 6 2/3 innings of work for the win.
