Etta Express opens ’81 season with tie against Butler

PANAMA CITY, Fla. — Marietta College senior designated hitter Dan Munday went 2-for-3 with one RBI, as the Etta Express rallied in the final two innings to tie Butler 2-2 on Sunday, March 8.
 
Munday's two-out double plated sophomore pinch runner Jon Shuler in the sixth inning to pull the Pioneers within one run. In the bottom of the seventh inning, senior first baseman Steve Morman led off with a walk and advanced to second on junior Chris Risley's sacrifice bunt, and reached third on a wild pitch by Butler's Mike Curry.
 
Morman scored the tying run on sophomore Steve Riley's groundout to third base.
 
Butler scored both of its runs off senior starter Jerry Bishop with a run in the second inning on Greg Ready's solo home run. The Bulldogs added another in the fifth when Tim Blakeley doubled home Greg Crawford.
