Marietta cruises past Denison on the road

GRANVILLE — Junior John Burns struck out seven and gave up seven hits as Marietta went on the road and defeated Denison 12-2 in an OAC Southern Division game on Tuesday, March 31.
 
Jon Shuler ignited the Pioneer offense with four hits, three runs and three RBI, while Marty Sberna went 2-for-4 with two RBI, two runs and a stolen base. Tom Gammiere, Jim Pancher and Tom Mohl each added two hits in the win.
 
Marietta also recorded five stolen bases as it improved to 21-1-2 overall and 1-0 in the Southern Division.
