PANAMA CITY, Fla. — For the fourth time in eight games, Marietta picked up a one-run victory by defeating Missouri-Rolla 7-6 on Thursday, March 12.
Junior Tom Gammiere's one-out single in the bottom of the sixth plated senior Steve Morman with the winning run. Junior Ken Lisko also scored in the inning.
Gammiere finished with two hits and two stolen bases, while sophomore Mark Talarico went 2-for-4 with two RBI. The Pioneers stole eight bases to improve to 7-0-1.
Senior Jerry Bishop pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on seven hits. Junior Dale Hurst improved to 2-0 after throwing just two-thirds of inning. Junior John Burns got the save with one inning of hitless relief.
Scott Fuerman and Neil Haberberger each had two hits for Missouri-Rolla.
