Freshman defensive back #Jake Green# was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week following the Pioneers’ 30-27 win over Otterbein on Saturday.

Green led all players with 12 tackles in the game, including 11 solo stops. In addition, Green intercepted two Cardinal passes and broke-up another.
For the season, he now has six interceptions, one shy of the school single season record.

Green returned his first pick of the game to the Otterbein 25-yard line setting up a Pioneer field goal in the first quarter. With just 13 seconds left in the first half, Green grabbed his second interception of the game. This one came at the Pioneer 1-yard line and thwarted an Otterbein touchdown.

Marietta closes out the season at home this Saturday against Capital University. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m.
