Freshman defender Sam Holthaus (Bedford, Ohio/University) was named the OAC men’s soccer Midstream Lighting Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Pioneers to a pair of shutouts last week. The Pioneers posted a 3-0 win over Washington and Jefferson and then played Bethany to a 0-0 draw. Marietta held its opponents to just five shots on goal in the two matches. The Pioneer defense has not allowed a goal in the last 286 minutes having clean sheets in each of the last three matches.
